Think closely about the closet space you have. Organize the space in order for maximum accessibility. When a child has access to their clothing and other items like belts and socks, this allows them to get their own clothes ready. This installs a sense of ownership as well as responsibility.

If space permits, a desk in a the room is helpful for finishing homework assignments or being creative. It can work as a workstation with a led backlight laptop to serve with growing educational needs. If you are thinking about ways to de-clutter the space, since you have this extra piece of furniture you can store toys in another storage space. You can rotate a large play bin with favorite toys, only leaving this one bin in the room. This will help prevent monstrous messes from occurring.

Many parents will differ on whether allowing a custom lcd TV in a kid room. If you decide you want to allow this there are many options to choose from. You will find a number of TVs designed in a fun, playful way that may be a great addition to the room, if you plan on installing one.

If you do not want to place a graphic lcd TV monitor in this space, think of other ways to entertain your child. Encourage their creativity or fun time by placing extra seating around the room. This could be a great way for their friends to gather and play or just hang out.

If interested in a particular sport or pastime make sure you place their winnings or reminders of favorite moments around the room. Having their favorite memories around them will help with keeping these memories and associated feelings fresh.

Whenever possible consider making an investment with the quality of furniture you plan to purchase. Good furniture will need less upgrading with the wear it will receive over the years. High quality furniture will also grow with your children.

Known by many names, the ‘earth touching’ pose of the Buddha is the Bhumisparsha mudra, which means literally ‘touching the earth.’ Mudras are gestures or motions of the hands and body designed  to express a a thought or feeling without speech.  The Earth Touching mudra is commonly seen in Buddha statues and art.  Buddhist meditation rituals are based on the many different mudras. The earth touching pose is most often seen in statues of Buddha and is also referred to as the ‘earth witness’ mudra.

The earth touching mudra is performed by extending the five fingers of the right hand and placing them on the ground with the palm facing inward toward the body. It’s believed that Buddha assumed the earth touching position after he achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi tree to call the goddess Shthavra to witness the event. Occassionally, you may see this mudra referred to as ‘Summoning the Earth Goddess to Witness.’

In the earth touching pose, the right arm rests on the right knee with the fingers extended downward. This position is one of the most common mudras seen in Buddha statues. The statue shows the Buddha with his left hand resting in his lap with the palm skyward in the meditation mudra (dhyana mudra). This is believed to symbolize the marriage of wisdom and method or Nirvana and Samasara. Buddhist teachings tell the tale of how Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha, assumed the earth touching pose to resist against the temptations and distractions of the demon Mara who sought to lure the Buddha from his spiritual life. Mara existed in many incarnations in Buddhist lore, from all powerful, evil creature to impish nuisance. This demon was a symbol of temptation who summoned beautiful temptresses to distract the Buddha from his spiritual journey much like the sirens of Greek Mythology

The earth touching pose is associated with Akshobhya, one of the Five Great Buddhas. He is a representation of confidence, determination and strength reflected in his depiction in the Bhumisparsha mudra (earth touching). The concept of the Five Great Buddhas was an evolution of the Buddhist theology. Initially only two existed, wisdom and compassion.

Akshobhya is the wise Buddha of the East, believed to possess a mirror-like wisdom that converts anger to wisdom. He is associated with the element water, mirror-like itself and symbolic of Akshobhya’s ability to help people see things as they truly are.

The simple beauty of this mudra is a welcome reminder that temptation can be confronted by strength.}

When we think of tiffany lamps the first think that strikes our mind is its vibrant colors, bejewelled, dragonfly design stained glass lampshades. Louis Comfort Tiffany was the man who created tiffany lamp. He was an American and son of a New York jeweller, Charles Tiffany. He took advantage of the electrical era with the vibrant artistic movement called Art Nouveau. He was in Europe at the time when the movement was reaching its full development and it profoundly affected his creative ideas and influenced his artwork.

He created the stained glass in a whole spectrum of peacock colours. These stained glasses were a perfect medium for softening and diffusing the barrenness of the light. With this new innovative design Louis Comfort Tiffany created an excellent masterpiece. His designs had different shades of colour and light mixed together in such a way that the end result was outstanding. These lamps made from glass and metal became very popular among people as they had a different glow and colours than normal glass lamps.

Along with colours he even experimented with blown glass technique to create new designs. His team consisted of skilled craftsmen and glassblowers to help him make unique lamps that were treasured by people. These lamps were very expensive and a luxury item and only the wealthy and rich people could afford them in America.

The term “Favrile” is used to define designs which had colours in the glass among the tiffany lamps. The word “Favrile” means by hand and this technique was patented by Tiffany in 1880. These designs were different from the stained glass technique which was used in Europe.

In Tiffany’s methods the reheated glass was sprayed with vaporized solution of salts of tin or iron. These vapours were absorbed by the molten glass and created layers of colours when the glass was cooled down. With these glass sheets having different colours Tiffany designed lamps in different styles and shapes.

Tiffany’s indigenous technique for producing coloured glasses was magical and quite effective. He designed different colours by using different metal vapours. The copper vapour spray resulted in greenish blue to a rich ruby red and the cobalt vapour produced a spectrum of blue shades and if mixed with manganese it gave the black colour. Glass colour variation was even done by changing the furnace conditions and temperatures.

Tiffany lamps had popular designs like dragonfly, peacocks, wisteria and water lilies. During that time having these lamps was only the reach of the rich and wealthy Americans. However today you can find many cost effective lamp shades which are reproduction pieces and have captured the style of that period.

There are many online stores which offer a wide range of lamps which are very affordable and decorative. Colour glasses make the whole place look more vibrant and lively and hence these lamps are choices of many people.

Tiffany lamps enhance the appearance of your homes through its very intricate design and style. Its illumination provides the required amount of light necessary for a room. It also exudes glamor and elegance. Or you may want to try unique lamps.

Unfortunately the cost of wedding photography is usually very costly, sometimes thousands of dollars. Every bride wants that perfect picture that captures that special day, but can not afford to pay through the roof for it. Here are a few money saving tips when budgeting for wedding photography.

Advertising for the right person

Advertising and posting ads at a local college or university is a great place to find a photographer. They will have fresh skills and ideas when it comes to wedding photography, and they will cost a lot less.

Go digital

Go digital rather then getting prints done. This will save you a profuse amount of money. You can now choose this as an option because most photographers will offer you the idea. You can get all of your photos on a CD rather then prints and proofs. After you receive your CD look at online photo developers to print to photos for you.

Create Your Own Album

Scrap booking is an excellent way to personalize all your pages. No one will know your wedding and guests like you do. This way you can go through all of your photos and reflect on the memories. You will enjoy creating your album and not only that but you will also save hundreds of dollars opposed to having your photographer design an album, and they may not include pictures that your friends sent you as well.

How Many Hours?

How long do you really need your photographer around you? Instead of having them come with you when you re getting your hair done, make up done, and dress sized just get them to come for the ceremony and a bit of the celebration afterwards. Your bridesmaids will be able to take the pictures of the preparation for you and you will be surprised how many other people will send you their copies as well.

A New Way for Pictures

Having disposable cameras at the reception is also an excellent idea. After everything is said and done all you have to do is drop them off at a photo development outlet, then go through the ones you really like and make larger prints for frames around your house. You will probably end up getting a few funny photos but a lot of wonderful ones as well. This will also give you a wide variety of pictures because your guests will be taking pictures of each other and not just at the bride and groom. Get each table of guest to write on the camera who was taking the photos so you can add the detail into your album.
