You have stepped into an exciting journey as you move into a new home. Decisions must be made of where to place everything, how exciting that can be! It is up to you which bedroom will be yours and what items will go in every room in this building that is soon to be called home.
As you are unpacking the kitchen paraphernalia you run across the electric rice cooker. Seeing it gives you ideas of what to make for dinner for the family, so instead of finding a place in the cupboard to place it, you leave it out for dinner. The family loves your chicken and rice specialty and it will be a treat the first night in their new home.
Going into the dining room after finishing in the kitchen, you see the movers have been there already. They positioned your new dining room furniture set exactly where you had pictured it. This is a perfect fit just as you had hoped when you picked it out in the furniture store.
Moving upstairs into the master bedroom you start unpacking clothes and placing them in the drawers. The walk in closet is one thing in this house that you plan to take full advantage of. Hatboxes go on the top shelf and shoe boxes on the floor. There is a section for hanging blouses and jackets, as well as a taller space for dresses or formal wear. How nice to have a sectional closet!
The next door down the hall is now the room of your daughter. As you walk in you see her sitting on her bed texting her friend. She assists with hanging the curtains and offers to unpack her own things. Your acceptance is quick, knowing this gives you more time in other areas.
The room your son will call his for the next four years until he leaves for college is next on the agenda. The newly purchased twin loft bed is perfect for what he needs. It not only has his bed but also houses a place for studying, as well as a new place for his computer. He now also has the internet access he so needs for researching papers for school.
Realizing that a lot has been accomplished your first day here, you end the day with a sigh. Work beckons in two days time and there is so much more to get finished. As each item finds its new place in the home, this house begins to take on the new persona of home.
